Gianmarco Soresi is that guy you’ve seen everywhere, and yet you still find yourself asking, “Hey, where do I know this guy from?” He’s been in commercials, TV shows, web series, theatre, films, on stages doing stand up, and soon he will be a published children’s book author with his own hour-long stand up special titled Infinite Bris. He’s also “that guy from those GE commercials” that you’ve heard no less than 100 times without realizing it.
A master of storytelling and parody, Soresi uses his Italian sternness and his Jewish guilt to walk his audiences through the most shamelessly embarrassing stories, nonchalantly delivering punch lines while you cry from laughter. His stand up is largely predicated on being confused and awkward with the women in his life, including his “girlfriend” that I’m 95% sure doesn’t actually exist.
Despite his admitted overall awkwardness, there’s something strangely captivating about Soresi. The work he showcases on his website varies in subject, length, and genre, and yet still I need to know everything about his personal life and how to live life as brazenly as he does; how to be casual yet infuriated, unbothered yet calculating, completely okay with failed relationships yet secretly dwelling on where it all went wrong.
Although his special, Infinite Bris, isn’t released just yet... the trailer promotes him in a more energetic light as he tackles tough topics like mental health, family life and, perhaps most concerning of all, man boobs. If you haven’t been paying attention to Gianmarco Soresi, then you’d better start because he’s about to be everywhere and nowhere at the same time. And, I’m not mad about it.
